ABOVE GROUND INSTALLATION FOR
DOG CONTAINMENT SYSTEMS

If you have decided that our wireless containment systems do not provide you with the full control you desire, but you do not want to or are unable to bury the wires using our other dog containment systems, we still have a solution for you. Not all wires used in the in-ground electronic fence system need to be buried. For this solution we offer Wire Securing Staples to safely and effectively secure an above ground installation. Just follow the simple instructions below.

  • First, lay down the boundary wire around the area you wish to contain your dog. Be sure to run the wire back to the transmitter and plug it in.

  • Hammer the staples around the wire along the ground about ever 5 – 6 feet.

  • Make sure there are not any raised areas before going to the next step. If there are any raised areas in the wire, hammer it down with another staple.

  • Place a staple where the wire and the beginning of the boundary meet. If there is a splice in this area, dig a hole about 2 inches deep and bury the splice. Then place a staple in front and behind the splice to relieve any pressure.

  • Next, walk to the first corner of the boundary and staple it to the ground. Repeat this step for all corners of the boundary. If your yard is not square, just select multiple points to act as anchor points for the wire.

  • Now just place staples as when needed to ensure that any raised areas stay down until the wire is completely flushed to the ground, more maximum safety.
